Terms of service

Last updated 5 November 2026

The short version: use Langsy to learn, fairly and lawfully. AI feedback is usually right but not always. Paid plans renew monthly, and you can cancel any time. What you write and say stays yours.

1.About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and [your legal name or company name], [postal address], who runs Langsy (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Langsy, you agree to them and to our Privacy policy.

If you use Langsy through a school or tutor, their agreement with us also applies, and they may set extra rules for how you use it.

2.Who can use Langsy

You must be at least 13 to create an account yourself. If you're under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to use Langsy. Learners under 13 can use Langsy only through their school or tutor.

3.Your account

  • Give us accurate details, and keep your password to yourself.
  • An account is for one person. Please don't share it.
  • You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away at hello@langsy.co if you think someone else has used it.

4.What Langsy is, and isn't

Langsy is an AI language tutor. Its conversations, corrections, explanations, worksheets and speech are generated by AI. They're usually right, but not always, so use your judgement. Langsy helps you practise; it isn't a qualified teacher or an exam board, and we can't promise any particular result.

Langsy is in beta. We're improving it all the time, so features may change, and there may be the occasional outage. We'll try to give notice of big changes.

5.Plans, payment and cancelling

  • Free is free, with daily and monthly limits shown on the Plans page.
  • Basic costs £7.99 a month and Premium costs £15.99 a month, including any VAT. Each has higher limits, shown on the Plans page.
  • Paid plans are charged monthly in advance through Stripe, and renew automatically each month until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time from the Plans page, using Manage subscription. You keep your plan until the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
  • Your 14-day right to cancel: when you first subscribe, you ask us to start your plan straight away. You can still cancel within 14 days of subscribing for a refund; we may take off a fair amount for the part of the month you've already used. Email hello@langsy.co to do this.
  • If we change a price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you, so you can cancel first if you want to.
  • If a payment fails, we may move you to the Free plan until it's sorted.
  • Schools and tutors who pay for their learners have their own agreement with us.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

6.Fair use

Please don't:

  • use Langsy for anything illegal, harmful, hateful or harassing, or to create such content;
  • try to get around plan limits, security or the captcha, or access other people's accounts or data;
  • use bots, scripts or scraping, or overload or disrupt the service;
  • copy, resell or reverse-engineer Langsy, or use it to build a competing product;
  • upload other people's personal information without their permission.

If you do, we may limit, suspend or close your account. Where it's fair to, we'll warn you first.

7.Your content and ours

What you write and say stays yours. You let us store and process it, including sending it to our AI provider, only so we can run Langsy for you, as our Privacy policy explains. You're free to use what Langsy produces for you (corrections, worksheets and so on) for your own learning.

Langsy itself, including its software, design, name and learning materials, belongs to us.

8.Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. This deletes your data, as our Privacy policy describes, and cancels any subscription.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we ever close Langsy altogether, we'll give you reasonable notice and refund any part of a month you've paid for but can't use.

9.Our responsibility to you

We provide Langsy with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Otherwise, we're not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for business losses: Langsy is for personal learning. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of £50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.

10.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Langsy changes. If a change matters, we'll show you the new version the next time you open Langsy and ask you to agree before carrying on. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

11.Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please email hello@langsy.co first. Most problems are quicker to sort out directly.
